HAS anyone else any thoughts or complaints about Bromsgrove District Council's bright idea to swap a few of the mother and baby car parking spaces for extra disabled spaces (now they're charging the disabled parkers).
I have tried to contact Steve Martin, who is responsible for the transport department, however ironically he is on paternity leave. I really feel that the council is neglecting to see the desperate need for mothers with young children to have the spaces for safty reasons.
What annoys me most is half the disabled spaces seem to be empty and they also have half of the indoor car park as well. I am not against more disabled spaces, I'm just really annoyed that now it is near impossible to get a mother and baby spot and the other spaces don't allow room to get the baby out of the car easily or to put the pushcair anywhere that 's safe.
Even the staff at Asda are bemused.
