STRATFORD are close to wrapping up the Premier Division title in the Premier Division and two points from next week's match will see them lifting the championship trophy.

Closest rivals Shipston slip-ped up after being held to a 2-2 draw by Littleton, while Studley moved up to joint second after a resounding 4-0 victory over Henley-in-Arden. Inkberrow stay in fourth after defeating Claverdon 3-1.

The leaders started in dominant mood as captain Tim Page with Simon West defeated FISSC duo Matt Baker and Nigel Yates 6-4, 6-2 and Bob Baker and Henry Lowry 6-2, 6-0.

Top player Rob Slatter was paired with Richard Monk and ther began well with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Baker and Lowry.

Then, after a sticky end to their second rubber, they overcame Baker and Yates 6-3, 7-6.

Shipston were held to a draw by a strong Littletons outfit. Ross Tugwell and Adam Moran recovered from an uns-ure start to beat Sean Withe-ford and Chris Elliott 4-6, 7-6, 6-2. They then went on to beat Richard Herbourn and Scott Witheford 6-0, 6-4.

On the other court, Ed Bos-ley and Tobias Kemp were unable to support their Ship-ston teammates going down 3-6, 1-6 to Herbourn and With- eford and then losing 1-6, 4-6, to Witheford and Elliott.

Studley took full advantage to close up to equal second on points after thrashing Henley 4-0.

Inkberrow stamped their authority over Claverdon in a 3-1 win that saw Pete Watson and Chris Baker defeat Richard Butler and James Courier 6-3, 6-4, and Pieter Van-Hengel & Nigel Bacon 6-1, 6-2.

Adam Hill and Alex Wood-bridge lost to Van-Hengel & Bacon 6-0, 6-0 but hit back to get the better of Butler and Courier 6-4, 7-5.

Division One has seen some controversy that has changed the look at the top of the table.

After an enquiry into why Evesham failed to field a team against Stratford C earlier in the season, the second-placed team were awarded a 4-0 win.

This result, together with two points from a 2-2 draw with Bidford, puts Stratford on top of the table two points better off than Chipping Campden who defeated FISSC B 4-0 and Tanworth 3-1.

Evesham have slipped down to third despite a 3-1 win over Tanworth, while Aston Can-tlow recorded a 3-1 victory over Littletons B.

Despite losing 3-1 to Strat-ford E, Inkberrow B stay top of the second division.

Moreton-in-Marsh, with a game in hand, kept up the pressure on the top two after a 4-0 romp over Stratford D.

Division Four leaders Alces-ter B were held to a 2-2 draw by closest rivals Claverdon C, while More-ton B defeated Henley B 3-1.
