UNDETERRED by rival sports fixtures, members of the Arden club at Defford gathered for last Sunday's annual fund raiser for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
The opening race was sailed in light and changeable wind and Stuart and Caroline Stephen (Enterprise) made the best of the conditions.
Richard Drinkwater, sailing his Enterprise without a crew, was second and David and Pauline Appleby (GP14) third.
After a rather crowded start to race two, Niall Campbell and Jane Smee (Enterprise) pulled clear and maintained first position, with the Stephens in second and Drinkwater third.
The third race followed the same pattern and, although the wind was gusting a little harder, roll-tacking all the way up river was still required.
The overall result saw Camp-bell and Smee in first ahead of the Stephens and Drinkwater.
