BROADWAY entertained Concorde League leaders Overbury last Thursday when a 121-75 victory saw them take over at the summit.

The hosts were always in control on four out of the five rinks with youngsters Richard Hall and Andrew Walters leading the way with 27-15 and 25-11 victories respectively.

The latter performed particularly well as he was 8-0 down after five ends but swiftly recovered to take a 16-11 advantage after seven ends later.

Walters is already in Worc-estershire's Middleton Cup squad and Hall joined him last weekend as reserve against Hereford-shire.

There were also good wins for captain Mick Aubrey and Phil Taylor while Colin Cooper scored two shots on the last end to edge past Bruce Hayward 18-16.

Mick Aubrey was always in command on his rink and won by eight shots while Steve Aldren was always in front and won by three shots after a spirited fightback by Mike Bishop.

Brian Ford almost snatched a game in which he was always behind but Eddie Lewis got a shot on the last end to earn a draw.

Dave Cresswell pulled back to trail by one at 15-14 after being 14-5 down but then faded in the last few ends to lose six shots, while Brian Clarke was always struggling against Fred Vincent and went down by nine shots.
