THERE was double delight for Dumbleton last weekend when the club's two senior sides both recorded wins.

The signs didn't look good at the halfway stage of the first team game after Woodmancote had taken the Dumbleton bowlers for 265 runs in their 45 overs.

But, on an excellent Dumb-leton wicket, the home team started their reply in blistering fashion with makeshift opener Nigel Stanton scoring 59 off 46 balls before being caught.

Graham Piesse (46) then continued where Stanton had left off while at the other end Peter Boorman carried his bat for a magnificent 128 not out as the hosts won by seven wickets with two overs to spare.

In the second team fixture against Goatacre, the Dumble-ton bowlers skittled their hosts for 109 on a rather indifferent wicket.

Dumbleton, though, found it just as tough in the middle and only reached their target with three overs to spare with David Smith (22) and Mark Rennie (21) the chief contributors.
