THE fifth Prudden Road Surfacing Inter-League Charity Cup Final was held last Saturday at the NFU Sports and Social Club courts and was an all-Stratford affair between the club's A and B teams.
Rob Slatter and Chris Adams took the first rubber 6-2, 6-0 against Andy Brown and David Widderson. They then had a competitive tussle with father and son Steve and Sam Righton who took them to three sets before the A team triumphed 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
On the other courts, A team captain Tim Page and Simon West defeated the Rightons 6-3, 6-2 and then overcame Brown and Widderson 6-2, 6-2 to lift the trophy for a third successive year.
The handsome trophy was supplied by PRS who also donated a cheque for £250 to a charity nominated by the winners.
This was added to by a further £100 donated by the Summer League. The Winter League provided the match balls and commemorative trophies for the players.
The trophy and medals were presented by Warwickshire LTS secretary Tony Eskew.
