A PERFORMANCE of 18th Century composer Mozart's opera Cosi Fan Tutte will be given in the garden at Hergest Croft, Kington, Hereford-shire, next month to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth.

The Opera Garden Company will tell the entertaining story of two sisters flirting with two local boys, relocated to the setting of a cricket match, on Saturday, July 15, at 7pm.

Erica Manley, events secretary for Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust, said the company always performed in English, to the highest musical standards, while keeping the performance witty and entertaining.

"It will be a great fun evening, with everyone bringing picnics for the interval, whether you are a great opera fan or just enjoying a relaxing night out with friends," she said.

Pupils from Kington Primary and Lady Hawkins schools, who took part in an educational workshop earlier this month, will take part in the first chorus.

Tickets, supported by South Hereford Audi, can be booked through Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust, 5 College Cloisters, Hereford, HR1 2NG, telephone 01432 374261.

The ticket price is £27.50 and picnics can also be pre-booked, price £15.
