KIDDERMINSTER Carolians will be buzzing when they resume pre-season training on Tuesday after finishing last season in fine form.

The Marlpool Lane men ended the 2005-06 campaign with eight wins culminating in them lifting the North Mids Shield.

Coach Andy Stooksbury is confident of a successful season in Midlands Three West North after keeping most of the young squad together.

He said Mat Rigsby, Nathan Small and Jack Tunstall will be a year more experienced, while the backs look dangerous with Tom Scandrett, Dan Quinn, James Whitehouse and top try scorer Eddie Ross.

Ben Turner will continue as captain with Stooksbury and Kev Mayer undertaking the coaching duties.

"We are in confident mood and although we need to improve on last year the aim is to get really fit and play some entertaining high quality rugby," said Stooksbury.

KCs will play warm-up games at home to Worcester Wanderers and Pershore on Saturday, August 19 and Saturday, August 26 and away at Old Halesonians on Saturday, August 2.

The league campaign starts on Saturday, August 9 when they host Wolverhampton.

Any new players wishing to join KCs should contact Andy Stooksbury on 07855 120738.

Pre-season training is at 7pm on Tuesday and Thursdays and at 11am on Saturdays.
