A FUN-fuelled family day out is on the agenda for Wolverley carnival enthusiasts.

Villagers are being urged to join the festivities on Saturday.

The parade of floats will start from Upper Hayes Road at 12.30pm and continue to the Memorial Hall field in Shatterford Lane, where there will be a feast of entertainment.

A bouncy castle, go-kart rides, archery and beat the goalie game will entertain children throughout the day.

Events including Maypole dancing, a dog agility display and tug-of-war will add to the fun in the main arena, while a variety of stalls, tombola stands and pony rides will be available.

The carnival king, queen, princess and rosebud will also be present on the day.

Village carnival chairman, Warren Jones, said there was still time to enter a float in the carnival parade.

He added: "I hope many people will come along and have an enjoyable day and meet old friends once again. The money raised from the event will go to village groups, including the Girl Guides and Cubs."
