IN February this year you ran a feature on the Black and White Campaign, opposing the proposed continuation of a badger cull by the Government in an attempt to control bovine TB in cattle.
Firstly I'd like to thank all those readers who supported the campaign. There was a vast response to the consultation, the majority of whom were opposed to a cull.
Despite this, the decision is still very much in the balance. As a result, an Early Day Motion has been put before the Government. It calls on them to take note of the evidence that a cull will only make the situation worse. The proposed methods are inhumane ways of killing badgers and the majority of those killed will be perfectly healthy.
Sadly many MPs are aware of the situation and have yet to sign the motion.
Please do not underestimate this threat to Britain's badgers. Please write to local MP, Dr Richard Taylor, at House of Commons, London, SW1A OAA urging him to sign Early Day Motion 1788.
