PUPILS from Blackwell's Linthurst First School made a giant sized tribute to royal couple Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer on the eve of their wedding. Hours of work went into the ten feet high paintings of the couple against a background of St Paul's Cathedral and a cheering crowd.

PENSIONERS Les and Rene Wilkes had the shock of their lives when they heard that Les had won £110,000 in a national 'Spot the Ball' competition. Les, 74, won first prize in the competition organised by three top football pools promoters - Littlewoods, Vernons and Zetters. The couple, who had no television set in their small, almost tumbledown house at the bottom of Stratford Road, said they would now be watching the royal wedding on the most expensive set in town.

BARNT Green drew an entertaining game when they visited Pershore. Electing to bat, Green were well served by the Toogood brothers, Matthew and Giles, who put on 29 for the first wicket. Price hit 53 before a declaration was made with the score at 176 for six. After losing four wickets for 80 runs, Pershore's chances of victory seemed remote, but Sid Fudger's knock of 63 not out helped them earn a draw.
