NEXT month sees the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain make a return visit to Malvern Theatres after a sell out concert in the Forum Theatre last year.

The orchestra is to be conducted by Sir Colin Davis and they will perform pieces by Stravinsky, Janacek and Sibelius.

The National Youth Orchestra is one of the world's finest youth orchestras which draws together each year over 150 talented musicians, aged between 13 and 19 years, from all over the UK.

Each member of the orchestra has one thing in common - a passion and commitment to the study and performance of great music.

Before their evening concert the National Youth Orchestra will showcase the work of the NYO Composers Course with an installation at the theatres. A series of two-minute pieces will be linked together and looped, in an installation for over 20 percussion instruments. This is a free performance for both the public and NYO evening concert goers. It takes place in the foyer of Malvern Theatres on Thursday, August 3 at 5.30pm. In the evening the NYO will perform in the Forum Theatre at 7.30pm. Call the box office on 01684 892277.
