CHILDREN across Worcester are finding out about the past, thanks to the Earth Heritage Trust.

The trust held an Earth Science Fun Day at the University of Worcester where schoolchildren were about to construct paper dinosaurs and make fossil moulds.

Children from Whittington CE Primary School, Worcester, and Church Lench CE Primary School, Evesham, attended the event, at the University's St John's campus. Whittington Primary teacher Heather Jago said she was impressed with the range of activities.

She said: "Having seven different activities all in one place is great -- we'd struggle to get through all of this in a week in the classroom, not just a morning. It's been a great experience for the kids - it's always the hands on stuff they remember."

The next Rock and Fossil Road Show is at St. Helen's Church, High Street, Worcester, from today until Thursday, August 17, as part of the Worcester Festival.
