A NEW piece of equipment has been installed at Redditch Library to make it easier for partially sighted people to read.

The library has installed a machine called the Aladdin CCTV Magnifier Rainbow Elite which was bought after the Redditch Association for the Blind raised £2,000.

Alison Robinson, from the library, said: "This is a wonderful piece of equipment which will not only help the partially sighted but also even those with normal vision who are reading very small print.

"It can also magnify what someone is writing so they can see more clearly.

"This is being piloted here and if it proves as successful as we hope, it may be installed in other libraries across Worces-tershire."
