ANDY Morrison could face further punishment over his role in the abandoned pre-season friendly against Kidder-minster Harriers.

City's assistant manager was handed a three-match ban and fined by the St George's Lane club following their internal inquiry into the August 5 match.

Morrison is alleged to have been involved in a dressing room bust-up during the second-half of the clash, which ended when Harriers manager Mark Yates led his team from the pitch after 71 minutes.

But Morrison, who was also warned as to his future conduct, is now the subject of two Football Association charges relating to the incident.

The FA have taken a dim view of the situation after receiving the findings of the City inquiry.

An FA spokesman said: "We have charged Andy Morrison with violent conduct and or threatening behaviour to-wards an opponent and threatening words and or behaviour towards an opponent."

Morrison has until Septem-ber 5 to respond to the char-ges.

Saturday's 1-0 home defeat against Moor Green saw Mor-rison complete his club suspension and he will be back alongside Andy Preece in the dug-out for City's visit to Worksop Town tonight (7.45).

Preece was at a loss to explain his side's lack of character in their first Nationwide North defeat of the season, particularly after taking four points from their first two games.

He said: "The lads are better speaking for themselves be-cause the first-half performance was just not acceptable.

"It's not acceptable for a team of mine to do that so I feel really let down and I think the fans and club should feel let down.

"We know we can compete against any team in the league, we just need the basics. Get the basics then we will be OK.

"Let's hope it doesn't happen again, but why should it happen in the first place? Once is too many times for me."

City chairman Dave Boddy, however, believes the Moor Green loss has to be taken in context with the side's current injury problems.

He said: "We didn't play very well but I am not concerned -- it was a blip.

"What you have to remember is that we still have five players out. I am expecting the team to bounce back tonight."

Striker Adam Webster saw a specialist on Friday and is now due to have a scan on his injured ankle today. The results are expected to be known on Friday.

Webster was carried off in the first minute of City's pre-season friendly with Kidder-minster Harriers following a tackle by Mark Creighton.
