EVESHAM United will be looking to put the ugly scenes which marred their Southern League division one midlands opener at Rothwell behind them when they make a little bit of history tonight.

Paul West's side host Sutton Coldfield Town (7.45) in the club's first match at Worcester City's St George's Lane ground, their newly adopted home since the Robins left Common Road.

But Evesham's 1-1 draw at Rothwell on Saturday turned sour following Richard Ball's 90th-minute equaliser.

Rothwell were left fuming after Evesham failed to give the ball back after the home side had stopped play for one of their players to receive treatment.

The visitors instead took a throw-in and Ball scored from the resulting passage of play, sparking a mass brawl which saw Rothwell captain Stuart Spencer sent off and Evesham's Nathan Vaughan and Anthony Robinson booked.

Manager West said: "It was a grey area but I don't want that to be detracting from the performance.

"At that particular time there's not a lot I can do from the dug-out. I think we should have won the game with the chances we created. I think it was what we deserved.

"We are looking forward to playing at Worcester City. The pitch is in excellent condition and hopefully we can grace the home of Worcester and make it a little bit of a fortress."

Malvern Town's Dean Roberts faces a late fitness test on a calf injury ahead of tonight's trip to Chasetown (7.45).

Roberts took a knock in Paul Molloy's side's 2-2 home draw with Leighton Town at the weekend.

Malvern, playing their first game in the Southern League, trailed 1-0 and 2-1 but levelled through Jamie Hyde and Phil Preedy.

Molloy said: "We were a bit nervous in the first-half but in the second-half we played well and were unlucky not to win the game."

Bromsgrove Rovers will be looking to build on their 2-1 victory at Sutton Coldfield when they host Rushall Olympic (7.45).

Nathan Lamey scored twice but was later sent-off.

Stourport Swifts travel to Cinderford Town (7.45) following their opening 1-0 home defeat to Spalding United.
