PHOENIX CLUB - The club begins the new season with lunch at The Punchbowl on the Bridgnorth to Ludlow Road. Meet at noon for 12.30pm on Wednesday September 6 and note change of date and day.

On Tuesday, September 19, Neil Cook, head gardener at Hanbury Hall will be describing the work involved in recreating the gardens at the hall. Meet at 2pm at the Trinity Church Centre.

CYCLING CLUB - There is one ride this Sunday. The A ride is an informal ride starting at 9am. The B ride is away on a Youth Hostel weekend at Thurlby.The ride leaves from The Green, Blakebrook, opposite the hospital. All cyclists will be welcome and should bring a packed lunch. HABBERLEY WI - Several members took part in the craft afternoon organised by Sue Stone. It is hoped to arrange a further session in cold porcelain. Sue is taking names for a visit to see Pardon Me Prime Minister on September 6.

The group now has a skittles team, Marion Easton will confirm fixtures. The trading stall had a good selection of books and needs donations.

Ms Greta Mitchell gave information of a free outing to Gloucester on October 4 run by the Ley Group. The Wolverley group is having a Hallowe'en party and the Franche group a bazaar on November 16 at 9.30am in the Corn Exchange. The group meeting is on October 25 when the speaker will be Mike Webster talking about Wolverley camp.

The speaker Ray Sturdy talked about Worcestershire Remembered showing slides of how the towns were 100 years ago.

The competition winners were Greta Mitchell and Jean Reynolds.

The next meeting is on September 7 at 7.30pm St John's Church Hall and Sue Merrill's talk is "From One Pig to Another". Visitors very welcome.

MINSTER LADIES - The next meeting will be on September 6 at St George's Annexe, Radford Avenue at 2pm.

The speaker will be Mrs M. Morton on growing herbs. Visitors welcome.
