THE 12th annual produce show, which was held at Fairfield village hall, produced many and varied classes, from flowers to fruit and photography, with a wide range of crafts and cookery items.

Entries were welcomed from both WI members and villagers, with special classes for children of all ages and once the judging was over the prizes were presented by Kath Davies, our group president.

Congratulations went to the following section winners: Eggs - John Hirons; Photography - David Hughes; Plants; flowers and veg - Sheila Morris, Brian Crook; Flower Arranging - Sheila Morris; Home Craft - Lyn Jones, Marjorie Rees; Crafts - Sheila Morris. Children's Classes; seven and under - Aleena Ahmed, Maddie Shaw, Jordan Prusst and George Howard; eight to 11 - George Brogan; 12-16 - Helena Cleaver, Lyndsey Adams and Laura Tuck. Overall WI winner - Sheila Morris.

Refreshments were on sale along with tombola and side-stalls, including guess the weight of a gorgeous cake and a bumper raffle, did a brisk trade. Richard Mason concluded a very well supported event by auctioning off a wide range of exhibits from jam to flowers and prize winning vegetables to eager bidders.

Thanks must go to each member of the show sub-committee and to everyone who helped on the day, but most especially to Lyn Jones, the show secretary, whose hard work and enthusiasm inspires the rest of the team to put on what has become such a successful and enjoyable annual event.
