COMEDY performer Les Dennis has enjoyed a minor renaissance in the last year, after his dirty washing was hung out for the world to see by the tabloid press and he continues his re-emergence by appearing in biting satirical comedy Marlon Brando's Corset at Malvern's Festival Theatre between August 31 and September 9.

The popular comedian and actor's messy break up with Amanda Holden was splashed over the British press and after a traumatic appearance in Celebrity Big Brother it has taken him a long time to recover.

But he's finally getting back on his feet and gaining some credibility after a side splittingly funny performance in BBC comedy Extras in 2005, which was probably more truth than fantasy.

Now he's teaming up with Canadian comedy maverick Mike McShane, who was last seen showing off his sharp sense of humour on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and actor Jeremy Edwards.

In Marlon Brando's Corset Dennis plays Nick, the man behind popular soap opera Healing Hands, who is sick of the cult of celebrity that has the nation firmly in its grip.

The show is a cutting satire on what it means to be a celebrity as the actors try their hardest to maintain their status as famous faces.

The play was conceived and directed by Ed Curtis and was written by Guy Jones.

Tickets for the show costs between £24 and £18 and can be bought by calling the box office on 01684 892277.
