ON the subject of the Saab garage development in Droitwich Spa I would like to urge people to look at the model and plans for this very important garage site.
The details are in the Community Contact Centre - formerly the One Stop Shop - at the top of the High Street.
This is a critical site for our town for many reasons. The town planning committee passed the plans with the following conditions:
l A site visit by wychavon Planners
l Proper public consultation
l Consideration to the materials used to be in keeping with the 'look' of our town - we would prefer brick
l Review of the flat roof as appropriate
l Consider appropriate height
l Consideration of the view entering the town and view to St Augustine
With the priority consideration being the need for action on the Queen Street junction by county highways - the developer has left space for highways to make major improvements to the junction and this needs to be agreed before the development progresses.
Wychavon District Council, the planning authority, consider the plans at the end of the month. Please write with your views c/o of Droitwich Spa town council at St Richard's House, Droitwich, or leave your comments to be forward at the contact centre.
