MANAGER Tom Goss is worried his Droitwich Spa side is not fully prepared for the start of the season.

The Spa boss watched his side defeat the reserves 3-1 in a pre-season friendly but felt his team needed more time to be ready for the 2006/2007 campaign.

Droitwich start the season against Kenilworth Town Reserves in the Jack Mould Trophy round one this Saturday.

He said: "I just get the feeling we were a little under-cooked and could do with another week to get us ready for the new season. The one good thing about Saturday's game is I thought the reserves looked really good and they'll be a strong side this season."

Goss is set to rely on a host of reserve team players as he has five first team regulars unavailable for the game at home to Kenilworth.

Spa will be without Ian Cotterill, Andy Pheasant, Andy Jones, Matt Moreton and Chris Everett.

On Saturday Spa's reserves opened the scoring but goals for Aaron Parr (2) and Tom Worley sealed a comeback by the first team.
