BARNT Green second's hopes of catching Wolverhampton in the Birmingham and District League Premier Division were hit when their game at home to Moseley was abandoned due to rain.

The gap between second placed Green and Wolverhampton stretched to 13 points after rain ended a close fought game when it was poised on a knife edge.

Edwards' five wicket haul made sure that Moseley were restricted to 112 all out in the 25th over. Steve Williams was bowled by Mohammed Bilal for six runs, before Matt Dallaway got his side back on track with 28 runs.

Mehraj Ahmed (14) and Alan White (10) also hit some runs but rain forced the game off, as Green reached 74-5 in the 19th over. Green will be aiming to get back on track when they go to Walsall this Saturday, before playing Wolverhampton away on Monday (both matches 12.30pm start).
