HEADLESS Cross Ladies continued pre-season with a 2-1 win at Kidderminster League Redditch VC.
The higher league visitors had a dream start, scoring after five minutes through Kirsty Robins, who fired in from 12 yards after an Elaine Frampton corner was headed onto the bar by VC stopper Ellen Branagh.
Cross continued to press with Allison Wayley firing wide, Robins sending a free-kick over the bar and Sally Templeton hitting the side-netting.
VC responded with Lianne Cooper levelling from a tight angle close in.
But Cross hit the winner five minutes from time when an Amy Staniland throw-in saw Becky Ankcorn pull the ball back for Frampton to fire in from 30 yards. Cross hope to arrange a final friendly at home to Studley Reserves next Thursday.
