A LOCAL lady of no fixed abode was brought up in custody charged with stealing a watch and chain, value 20s, at Bidford.
A man said he went into a field with prisoner and, shortly after leaving, missed the watch and chain.
He told prisoner she had taken it and she replied: "What! Taken your watch and chain?" She then got over the gate and went away.
He afterwards gave evidence to the police.
Replying to Captain Gerard, prosecutor, he said he saw prisoner take watch and chain.
Prisoner said she was not guilty of the charge and was remanded in custody until the petty sessions.
