SWIMMERS at Stourport Sports Centre have been able to splash the cash for a children's charity.
They raised £1,056.55 for NCH during Swimathon 2006, a national event.
The cash will help fund NCH centres across the UK, enabling them to continue supporting vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Andrew Todd, deputy manager of Stourport Sports Centre, said: "We are delighted that so many people were able to put so much of their own time and effort into completing these challenges by being so committed they have contributed a huge amount to a very worthwhile charity.
"It's really good to know that the money raised will make such a difference to the lives of others.
"Swimathon was a good event to organise but I cannot take the credit for the hard work - that must go to all the swimmers and their helpers.
"Without their continued commitment, this event would not be a success.
"I really hope when next year's Swimathon takes place, we can offer lots more people the opportunity to participate and, once again, make this fantastic event another success," added Mr Todd.
