I MUST register my strongest objection to the plans to charge for car parking at the new leisure centre.
In other respects the plans look attractive, but no mention is made in the information displayed in the leisure centre about the parking, so the reply cards that you have received will be misleading.
My wife and I, both pensioners, make regular use of the excellent existing leisure centre in Davies Road about three times a week. If we had to pay for car parking the cost would double our current subscription and make it uneconomical.
I hope that there will be a change to this money grabbing policy and free parking for those who use the new facility. If not, we shall be most unlikely to use it.
