LOCAL youngsters featured prominently in Saturday's Evesham and District Association Junior and Intermediate Champion- ships.

Daniel Rock from Ab-bots Salford was crow-ned Intermediate cham- pion ahead of Evesham's Jonathan Baguley.

Simon Pickering was another pipped for first place when finishing runner-up in the Junior competition behind Jack Livesey in an event that saw Evesham's Craig Aylett in fourth.

Evesham boasted a couple of section winners courtesy of Steve Roberts and Mathew Kinnersley at an event that boasted 50 entrants that was superbly orga-nised by Wychavon DC and Dave Harrell and splendidly supported by James Robbins at Shak-espeare.

Recipients of the "goody bags" were grateful and impressed for which thanks are due to Gareth Purnell and Lucy Mellor at David Hall Publications.

Livesey, meanwhile, is now preparing for Sunday's Wychavon match as is Baguley who repla-ces Rock who is on holiday.
