TEMPLE Grafton are hosting a golf day on September 1 at Bidford Grange Hotel & Country Club followed by a pig roast at the Golden Cross, Ardens Grafton.

"The Hole Hog", has been introduced in an effort to raise money for the club's new changing facilities. The current facilities at the Grafton Gro-und are in a desperate state of repair and the aim is to raise £12,000 over the course of the next three years.

Organiser Tom Benjamin said: "We've been involved in Golf Days before with Sean at the Blue Boar and they are a great way of socialising and having fun, as well as raising money and awareness for the club.

"This should be no different and promises to be a great day out - we also have few added twists to make it especially interesting for the golfers!"

Club members have been feverishly working away for next Friday's event selling sponsorship to local businesses and tee-off times to keen golfers from the area and beyond.

Teams of four are taking part and they have filled 11 of their 15 tee-off times. Fourteen of the 18 holes have also been sponsored by businesses who have been asked to rename their chosen hole.
