MAJOR handicap reductions were needed after a couple of junior competitions at the The Vale Golf and Country Club.
The Walters brothers - Martin and Robert - featured strongly in the final Junior Medal but they were pipped for first place by Nathan Ballard.
The winner's net score of 70, playing off 22, proved enough by virtue of better scoring over the last three holes with Martin Walters (91-21-70) having to settle for second. Brother Robert was third (88-17-71).
Playing the nine-hole Lenches Course off half handicap, 27-handicapper Jack Finch topped the scoring list with a net 23.
Laurence Potter (51-24-27) and Daniel Walters (53-21-32) occupied second and third places respectively.
