A SUCCESSFUL Areley Kings A level student is getting ready for life at a prestigious Oxford university college thanks to her impressive exam accomplishments.

Stourport High School pupil, Jessica Keal, bagged A grades in history, psychology, English, general studies, a B in biology and a merit on a psychology extension paper.

The 18-year-old's exam performances have booked her a place at St Hilda's College, where she will start a three-year modern history degree course in October.

Jessica said she felt nervous before picking up her grades last Thursday morning and admitted her success "had come a bit out of the blue".

The Swiss Heights teenager said: "The atmosphere was tense at school when I went to get my results. It was quite a scary experience.

"I was not expecting to do as well as I eventually did so it was a big surprise. It still has not really sunk in.

"I went out on Thursday night for a meal with friends to celebrate, which was nice. They are going to Manchester and Cardiff but we will still keep in touch."

The keen musician, who plays the harp and piano, is hoping to carve out a career in intellectual law after her spell at the renowned college.

Fellow Stourport High success story, Amy Lloyd, who scored five A grades in psychology, English, sociology, general studies and drama and theatre studies, will join Jessica at St Hilda's, where she will study English.
