A STOURPORT shoplifter who made off with hundreds of pounds worth of spirits from a supermarket is being hunted by police after striking on three different occasions.

The thief stole more than 20 bottles of whisky and Bacardi from the Co-op store, in Lombard Street, before making his getaway on a bike.

Eight bottles of whisky were stolen in the first incident, which happened at 8.20pm on Friday, August 11.

Officers believe the raider asked unwitting people outside the shop to "look after his bike" as he entered.

The man was described as white, 25 to 30, with a shaved head, 5ft 6 inches tall, wearing a green puffer jacket and black trousers and carrying a rucksack.

In the latest incident, he had an accomplice, described as a white male, who also carried a rucksack and was of similar age with dark, collar length hair. He wore a blue or grey anorak with a hood, which had a white band on the sleeve.

The thief took 10 bottles of Bacardi the following night at about 8.30pm before making his way down Tan Lane on a bike.

He struck at about the same time on Tuesday, August 15, stealing large amounts of whisky.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, should call Stourport police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
