A KIDDERMINSTER whizz-kid's decision to concentrate his AS level efforts on the sciences has proved to be a wise decision, judging by his top mark exam performances.
Wolverley High School student, Ben Powell, scooped A grades in physics, chemistry, biology and also walked away with an A in geography and B in maths.
The 17-year-old, of Gardeners Close, is now faced with the tough decision of what subject to drop when he returns to complete his A level courses in September.
Ben, a keen Ipswich Town fan, said his passion for the sciences was sparked when he was awarded a Franche Middle School prize for the subject four years ago.
He explained: "I had never really thought of doing it until then. It made me realise I must be quite good so I thought I would follow those subjects.
"I don't really know where the people who say they are easy get their information from because the exams are really difficult and you have to work hard to do well."
Ben, who works part-time at Kidderminster's JJB sports store, added he was hoping to be preparing for university life in a year's time, to sit a chemistry degree, but was keeping his options open when it came to the location.
