A LEADING Kidderminster grasstrack rider's memory lived on when a trophy was presented in his name at Bewdley Motor Cycle Club's blast from the past meeting.
Ivor Lawrence, who died recently after a long illness, was one of the country's best ever grass track racers.
To commemorate his memory, Lawrence's family presented the club with a trophy for the winner of the Pre 75 class at the Bewdley Bonanza meeting, near Bridnorth.
The Bewdley Bonanza was a throw back to the meetings of the same name in the 1970s which attracted the best grasstrack racers from across the world.
Worcester's Nigel Newman, a former Cradley Heath speedway rider, was first recipient of the Ivor Lawrence trophy along with a £250 cash prize.
He said: Winning the trophy was great but I am so proud to be the first winner of Ivor's memorial trophy."
