WYRE Forest Cycle Racing Club's Dave Barnes took another fine victory in the Veteran Time Trial Association 25-mile time trial at Burton-on-Trent.

Barnes was in awesome form to power around the A38 course in 52 minutes 56 seconds for his third open win of the season.

He also recorded a personal best in the Cardiff Byways 25-mile time trial and was first for Wyre Forest in round five of the Rudy Project time trial series promoted by Stourbridge CC.

In the club's season long events competition, Chris Morris extended his lead over second-placed Andy Convery with maximum points in the latest round.

Veterans event (one lap): 12 G Bartram 34-21 (17th in handicap event).
