THE latest RICS rural land market survey shows a rise in farmland values nationally of nine per cent over the year to June 2006.
The main reason for this seems to be the continuation of strong economic growth and a buoyant housing market.
Availability of farmland nationally is also up again, for the fourth consecutive quarter, but still trails behind the level of demand, which is also on the rise. Reported sales appear to be at their highest level since early 2001 and the general view across the market is that this should continue for the foreseeable future.
