COLWALL seconds won the toss and decided to bat on a wet Ghost Meadow pitch for this Worcestershire County league division three south fixture.
COLWALL II v TENBURY II
It was important Colwall got off to a good start in a must-win match and reports that the weather was closing in.
The first wicket fell on 26 when Hylands bowled Portsmouth for 11. Wickets then fell at regular intervals, King taking the next three to leave the visitors 32-4 after 15 overs and when Harewood struck in the next over, things got worse for Tenbury.
A partnership of 48 developed between the hard- hitting Tyler and Yarranton until Bennett had the former caught by King at mid-wicket.
Coleman then got Cronie and Yarranton (31), and Bennett finished the innings with Tenbury only scoring 100.
With the weather closing in Colwall sent in Bakewell to aid Taylor in reaching the target as quickly as possible.
This was accomplished in eight overs, Taylor hitting 25no off 20 balls and incredibly Gareth Bakewell smashing 70no off 26 balls.
Tomorrow (Saturday), third-placed Colwall seconds visit Himbleton seconds.
