I AND many families and friends of Bewdley Town Football Club enjoyed a fabulous few days of music and family-basd fun at the club during their annual fund-raising campaign weekend.
However, on the Sunday afternoon the weekend was somewhat tarnished by the arrival of Councillor William Jones who was following up on complaints from the Park Home caravan owners across the river about loud music.
Bewdley has had a football team since the early 1900s and many members of my family and other families have been proud to play for their local team.
Today my four-year-old grandson attends the mini-kickers sessions along with 50-60 other four to eight-year-olds, so I am quite surprised to see a local councillor who, I would have thought, would be pleased with the club's achievements and interests regarding the local community, constantly complaining on behalf of these residents.
These people would have purchased their properties long after the football club was established and would surely have researched surrounding factors.
Come on, councillor and Park Home owners, let's see us all acknowledge the efforts made by this club and together we can promote the needs of local people and bring unity to the community.
