A WOMAN who left her husband to do various DIY jobs around the house returned to find him hanging by a rope from a loft hatch.
Opening an inquest on Tuesday into the death of 66-year-old James Turner, Worcestershire Victor Round said it had come as a complete surprise to Mr Turner's wife, who said he had seemed fine when she left him and was looking forward to attending to the jobs.
Mrs Turner made the grim discovery at their home in St Bernard Drive, Malvern, on Monday, July 20. Paramedics certified her husband dead at the scene.
Mr Round said police found no note from Mr Turner, a sales manager. He said that Mr Turner had recently had his driving licence returned to him after suffering a fit.
He said there were no suspicious circumstances and recorded a verdict that he had taken his own life.
