WORCESTER City are aiming to keep up their impressive record on the road as they return to the scene that ended last season's away day hoodoo.

Andy Preece's side visit Gainsborough Trinity tomorrow looking for a third consecutive win on their travels this season.

City's last journey to the Lincolnshire club on January 21 was a landmark in the St George's Lane side's season as it was their first away win of the last campaign.

That sparked a remarkable run which saw City win eight and draw one of their next 11 Nationwide North outings, helping them finish eighth in the table after a late push for the play-offs.

Victories at Barrow (1-0) and Worksop Town (2-0) so far this season have seen City continue their impressive run.

Manager Preece said: "Our away form since that Gainsborough game has been phenomenal. We want to keep that going and that record intact."

City, currently sixth in the standings, are hoping the trip to second-placed Trinity is the first of many promotion-chasing clashes over the coming months in their bid for Conference football.

"We are in the top six again and we want to take the next step," Preece said.

"Even though it's early on in the season, it's a top-of-the-table clash and that's what we want."

Both teams have made a water-tight start to the season in the goals against column with Gainsborough yet to concede and City keeping two clean sheets on their travels. The Lincolnshire outift, managed by Paul Mitchell, have also secured their first three victories by 1-0 margins in an impressive start to the season.

But City boss Preece believes his team can emmulate those achievements, particularly given the on-going injury situation.

Preece said: "I think the start we have had is probably past our expectations with the players we have had out. We are back and have turned things around again.

"We have got the squad if everybody's fit. We have still got Mark Danks, Tom Warmer, James Coates and Adam Webster to come back and that can only be a positive thing."

Striker Danks' brief run-out as a last-minute substitute at Worksop handed City a huge boost and he is likely to be involved from the bench again tomorrow.

City are likely to stick with Danny Hodnett at right wing-back after he replaced Jay Sztybel at Worksop.

Assistant manager Andy Morrison, currently facing FA charges, took his place in the dug-out in Nottinghamshire on Tuesday following his three-match ban.

n Redditch United, beaten 2-1 at home by Hucknall Town on Tuesday, entertain high-flying Harrogate Town tomorrow in Nationwide North (3pm).
