A little boy from Droitwich is distraught because his favourite teddy bear went missing after it took part in a parachute jump off Pershore Abbey.

Three-year-old Charlie Robinson, of Hanbury Park, Droitwich, was enjoying a day out on Bank Holiday Monday when his teddy bear Billy was just one of the dozens of cuddly toys thrown from the top of Pershore Abbey for the Great Midlands Teddy Bear Parachute Jump. However when he went to collect Billy, he was no where to be found.

Charlie's mum Michelle, aged 36, believes somebody stole the muc-loved teddy that was given to Charlie by his grandmother when he was born.

"Of course he was absolutely distraught," she said. "We watched the launch and then we all went to pick up the teddys. We went with a group and everybody except Charlie got their teddy back. He is really upset.

"It wasn't a mistake because this was a very distinctive looking teddy."

Billy is light blue and about a foot tall, he wears a sash that reads "It's a Boy!" and his parachute on the day was an England flag. He was also covered in bandages and plasters for the big jump. Mrs Robinson said: "Maybe we should not have used such a special teddy but we never thought we wouldn't get it back."

Mrs Robinson hopes Billy will be returned as soon as possible, even if it is handed in at Pershore Abbey anonymously.
