Barnt Green Spartak 4 Brereton Social 0

STRIKER Nathan Glanville made it six goals in four games in the Midland Combination Premier Division as Barnt Green Spartak continued their winning streak on Saturday.

Glanville's brace, as well as goals for Carlos Knight and Adrian Knox, ensured a comfortable victory lifted to Spartak to third in the table.

Knight's goal, his first for Spartak, was even more sweet as it was watched by brother and Fulham star Zat Knight.

Managing director Tony Allen admitted he's been impressed by how quickly the team has gelled together.

He said: "Four weeks ago they were a group of individuals but with every game they play they are becoming more like a team. We're improving with every game we play and it's a very encouraging sign for the rest of the season."

Glanville has been one of the early season high-lights for Spartak with his impressive strike record but Allen praised all the side's hitmen.

As well as Glanville Spartak have Andre Tulloch, Django Farrell and Wayne Lawley all looking dangerous.

Allen said: "We've got a lot more goal threat this season and not just the first choice, we've got some really dangerous players on the bench and they can cause problems.

"It also means we can change the game and have three up front, which really scares the opposition."

Green will be hoping to start a money spinning run in the FA Vase this Saturday, when they take on Midland Alliance side Cradley Heath (3pm kick off). Victory will see Spartak earn £500 for progressing out of the first qualifying round.
