I READ with interest the report of 50 years ago in Memory Lane (August 23), about the lightning and thunder, on a clear day and cloudless sky, as only this year I witnessed the same experience one afternoon about early July.
The sky was blue, not a cloud to be seen and all at once there was a very loud clap of thunder, not an aeroplane or any other sound, it was definitely thunder, perhaps some weather experts can tell us, is this possible on such a day.
Can there be a charge of electricity with no clouds or storm brewing. I'd be very interested to know,.
Thank you for an excellent weekly newspaper.
