South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust board today spelled out exactly where it intends to make £13m of cuts.

Those losses are on top of the 700 job cuts announced by Worcestershire NHS Hospitals Trust in April to tackle a funding gap of £30m.

So what does the future hold for local health services in Worcestershire?

The Worcester News has joined BBC Hereford & Worcester, and our sister titles The Kidderminster Shuttle and The Redditch Advertiser to launch Your Health Your Future.

In a two-hour debate to be broadcast live, health experts will answer your questions on the health service. Six readers will be chosen to attend the debate to table their question.

Editor of the Worcester News Stewart Gilbert said: "Health issues are once again dominating the headlines and the Worcester News is keen to give our readers a voice.

"We are delighted to join with our neighbours BBC Hereford & Worcester to offer the people of Worcestershire this opportunity to have their say on their health service." On Thursday, June 22, BBC Hereford & Worcester will broadcast the live debate as part of a day of special programmes on health issues.

The managing editor of BBC Hereford & Worcester, James Coghill, said: "The future of local health services is arguably one of the most important issues facing us today.

"We do not intend it to become some sort of blame game; we're more interested in what's going to happen to our hospitals and other health services, not just in a years' time, but in 10 or 20 years."

The live radio debate, starting at noon, will be based at three locations, University of Worcester, Kidderminster College and NEW (North East Worcestershire) College in Redditch.

The audience of up to 30 people at each location will consist of health professionals, experts, retired consultants, politicians and patients.

The radio debate will be carried live online at BBC Hereford & Worcester's website, and will be televised in a live web cast available online at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester.
