lFABULOUSLY rich pop stars such as Bono and Bob Geldof are being given far too much publicity.

In the case of the unremarkable U2 frontman, someone needs to have a word in the ear of the embarrassingly sycophantic editor of the Independent. What kind of plonker of a journalist allows someone like Bono to take charge - even for a day?

As far as the foul-mouthed Geldof is concerned, all the signs are that he is hustling his way to become an MP. Geldof is nothing but a bully with too much time on his hands.

l I HAVE known a number of people whose talents have not received the recognition they deserve. Worcester's Seamus Kelly is one such person.

Seamus is probably Britain's greatest authority on legendary crooner Bing Crosby. Not only has Barbourne's genial Irishman devoted much of his life to charting the life of the man with a voice like liquid chocolate, but he can also speak at length and with no small degree of authority on his chosen subject.

Seamus has, of late, been delivering the occasional talk on his hero, and not before time. I think he should be given a slot next door at BBC Hereford & Worcester. What say you, Mark Hellings?
