We had lots of fun in the sun at show

BEAUTIFUL weather helped to make a day in the countryside extra special.

Almost 4,000 people turned up for the third annual CountryTastic interactive event at Malvern’s Three Counties Showground yesterday.

Children got to meet and pet Shetland ponies, cattle and newborn lambs, as well as getting the chance to do some egg decorating, cake-making or hay twisting.

However, the day was not only meant to entertain the youngsters, but also educate them about the countryside, about where their food comes from and teach them about the environment.

BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson was at the show, commentating on the livestock parade with local farmer Clive Davies.

Sharon Gilbert, press and PR manager for the Three Counties Showground, said: “Obviously it was a beautiful day and it was really busy – we had to open an extra car park.

“There were lots of families picnicking in the grounds and we had some really good feedback. We were 1,000 people up on last year, which was just really fantastic. We hope it will grow each year.”
