If you can drag yourself away from the football World Cup, why not take part in the first-ever Olive World Cup.
Capers, an independent delicatessen in Pershore High Street, is hosting the tournament in store. Olives from across Europe take part in `taste-offs' and shoppers will get to decide which one deserves to win the cup. Helen Saunders, deli owner, who is pictured left, said: "We know that all olives are born with the desire to satisfy tastebuds. Most of the olives we have sold once or twice, and some are new ones. It's a chance for people to try new and different olives." The olives are all provided by supplier Olives Et Al, who also organised Capers' popular Purple Love Week, whic promoted real food and the independent delis that sell it.
