TENSIONS were at boiling point as the Liberal Democrat leader visited a packed pub in Worcestershire.

Nick Clegg was cheered and heckled from the moment he arrived at the Nag's Head in Malvern this afternoon.

Hundreds packed into and outside the pub in Bank Street to hear a stump speech and listen as Mr Clegg answered questions from some members of the public.

But just as he was leaving, Mr Clegg was confronted by Ken Pollock, chairman of West Worcestershire Conservatives, who said he was "manhandled" out of the way by a policeman.

The crowd then surged as Mr Clegg was ushered away by aides only for him to be confronted by a man who had earlier been told to "pipe down" by the party leader.
