OUR April meeting was an open meeting and the president welcomed members from some of our neighbouring WIs as well as our own members and friends.

We were pleased to receive invitations to events organised by Ripple, Powyke and Queenhill WIs.

Members were also signing up for various federation events.

Coral Male gave a report of the excellent annual council meeting at Malvern the previous month. It had been one of the best she had attended.

Bob Price was our speaker for the evening, returning by special request. This time he talked and showed excellent slides of an Australian trip from Darwin to Perth. He covered 4,800 miles, a third of them off-tarmac roads, in a motor home. He included several national parks in his itinerary and we were surprised how green much of the countryside was. There were pictures of beautiful gorges, wildflowers, aboriginal rock art and even crocodiles. As always, Mr Price gave a very professional talk and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

At our next meeting, at 7.30pm on May 11 in the village hall, we shall be discussing the resolution on country of origin food labelling, in preparation for the national meeting at Cardiff in June. Visitors are welcome.
