POPULAR park concerts are being laid on for the music-loving public.

The weekly Band in The Park concerts which proved a hit when they were launched last summer are back.

Organiser Droitwich Town Council has now announced the programme of Sundays performances which will include Worcester Youth Jazz Orchestra (June 20), Salvation Army (July 11) and high school bands (July 18).

Councillor Richard Morris, town council bands committee chairman, said: “All the traditional brass bands are there but with the support of the community and sponsorship we have also been able to bring a little more variety into the programme.

“We know how popular the programme is and with the support we are so pleased to keep it weekly.”

The programme starts on Sunday, May 16, with the City of Coventry Brass Band and will run weekly until September 5.

Concerts start at 2.30pm on Sundays in Lido Park and people are welcome to bring picnics and chairs.

The Lido and Lido café will also be open.
