A BIG trend for this summer is the clog. It’s been featured in catwalk collections by Chanel and Louis Vuitton and is the height of fashion for your feet.

Here is a small selection that you can find in shops in Worcester.

It’s D-Day for charity’s V-Day campaign to spruce up shops

SAVE the Children are launching a nationwide campaign appealing for keen volunteers to help transform their shops.

Save the Children shops – including the store in Pump Street, Worcester – are currently run almost entirely by volunteers but the charity needs at least 4,000 more volunteers to help keep their 123 shops trading.

Just over a year ago, retail guru and Save the Children ambassador Mary Portas volunteered her time to transformed one of Save the Children’s under-performing charity shops to make it the best performing store. Now Mary is back and wants the nation to step up to her next challenge – V-Day volunteer day – and anyone can get involved.

Save the Children’s V-Day campaign kicks off this week for four weeks.

Volunteers from all walks of life are encouraged to get in touch with Save the Children and volunteer in their local shop.

Shifts are flexible to suit volunteers and the work is varied, challenging and exciting. You might help to find treasures among the donations.

You could be using your skills to manage other volunteers or putting your creativity to the test by designing eye-catching window displays.

Individuals can develop their skills in retail or build on existing skills and every minute of your time will be helping Save the Children change the lives of children around the world.

Brand new look for second-hand store

POPULAR city vintage shop Second Hand Rose unveiled its new look following refurbishment last week.

Owner Clare Bridge revealed the new, bright blue colour scheme and eye-catching vintage doily decoration.

“I wanted to give the shop a fresh look for spring,” said Ms Bridge, whose shop has been situated in the Hopmarket for the last four years.

“Second Hand Rose stocks a great range of affordable vintage clothing for men and women. We also follow contemporary fashion so we can offer our customers unique ‘on trend’ alternatives to mass-produced items.”

Shoppers on Saturday were treated to home-made cakes while they were browsing the vintage clothing on offer and checking out the results of the shop’s makeover.
